bright lighting is used on Beyonce's character when being showed on the camera. by using bright lighting here, Beyonce's face is half covered with light. The lighting could suggest that her character is sad through the colour used in the whole music video. black and white shows emotions.

For example, the lighting on both of the videos are different, Uptown funk uses lighting to make the setting stand out whiles if i were a boy only uses lighting to show important characters on the scene.

The styles contrast because uptown funk already uses bright colours and only uses lighting for setting to make it stand out. If i were a boy uses black and white colour pallet to show this song s emotional, the lighting used to make the characters stand out. the mood for uptown funk is happy and fame whereas, if i were a boy is sad and emotional.
